On January 18, 2026, Yinka Animashaun accidentally went viral. The Nigerian American posted a screen recording of her email exchange with “glambot king” Cole Walliser, in which she asked how much it would cost to rent his glambot video setup — known for taking beautiful slo-mo shots at celeb-filled awards shows — for her Nigerian Indian wedding. 

“If you feel like this might be within your budget range, then I am happy to discuss further,” Walliser wrote back in a 2019 email. “Yeah, it’s something within my budget range :),” Animashaun responded. What should have been a straightforward vendor fee request turned into a passive-aggressive Pretty Woman moment, where Walliser implied that Animashaun couldn’t afford him and was wasting his time. The controversial exchange threw the internet into a frenzy, with allegations of racism and plain rudeness. But for many Nigerians and Indians, the incident was summed up in one pithy observation: Walliser clearly knew nothing about Nigerian and Indian weddings.
